Casual lettering on showcard substrate. "Showcard" stock is a multi-ply board made of paper and very thin layers of clay. Showcards or paper signs were typically used indoors for window displays, advertising weekly or monthly specials or just about any message you wanted to convey to the customer in casual or formal styles.

Vinyl lettering and enamel on aluminum

This is an example of surface gilding. The top example shows a finished piece. the lower example shows an example of a piece after the 23k gold was laid but before the finishing touches were applied. Gold can really catch the eye at the right angle, as shown in the lower example. And when not bright it still has a beautiful luster. This process can be done with silver and copper as well.
